Girls Fundamental Camp- Our girls’ basketball camp will focus on skill development such as ball-handling and shooting. Skills will be developed with hands-on instruction using age appropriate drills.   Fundamentals learned throughout this camp will be used in game play as well during camp. 1st Annual Stacey Brunner-Jones Girls Basketball CAMP- Join former outstanding Mt. Horeb Alumnus, college player-Winona State, and current head Women’s Basketball Coach-Concordia University Wisconsin, Stacey Brunner-Jones, for a 3 day basketball camp. This camp will focus on developing the all-around offensive and defensive skills girls need to be competitive basketball players and have fun while learning.  Campers will enhance/improve their skills on the offensive and defensive end. *2hour sessions available Mon-Thur at 9-11 and 11-1 (see schedule below) Middle School   Cost $20, Limit 5 per session, 8 sessions avail

Advanced Skill Development- Girls will receive individual instruction and work in small groups of 5 to improve their ball handling, offensive moves and shooting. Theses session will be led by experienced coaches at the varsity level. Led by Tom Lesar (former Varsity Basketball Coach) and Nolan Krentz- Mt. Horeb JV girls coach.


Stacey Brunner-Jones Bio

Stacey Brunner-Jones is the associate director of athletics, in addition to serving as the Athletic Department’s senior women’s administrator and head coach of the women’s basketball team at CUW. She just completed her ninth season at the helm of the Falcons and has led the Women’s Basketball team to five Northern Athletics Conference Championships and two appearances in the NCAA Tournament, and has been named NAC Coach of the Year twice.

In 2012-2013 Brunner-Jones guided the Falcons to a NAC North Division crown after posting a 14-4 conference record. CUW went 19-9 overall and advanced to the NAC Championship game. The 2008-2009 was one of the best ever for CUW as it went 23-6 under the guidance of Brunner-Jones. The Falcons defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College, 69-65, in the NAC Championship game and advanced to their second NCAA Tournament during her tenure. Brunner-Jones’ nine-year record at CUW is 162-85 including an impressive 19-9 turnaround in her second season and an unprecedented 23-4 mark with a NAC championship in 2006-07. That was followed by two more 20-plus winning seasons and three more NAC crowns. A 1995 graduate of Mt. Horeb (Wis.) High School, she was a member of the Vikings state runner-up team and a three-time all-conference performer. Following her prep career she competed at Winona State University and was a two-year starter for the Warriors. Brunner-Jones’ previous coaching positions included three years as the women’s assistant at Loras College (Iowa) and two as the head assistant at Winona State (Minn.). Stacey is married to Matt Jones. They reside in Milwaukee, Wis., with their son Braylon.


7th Grade Boys Take Home a Runner-Up Finish at State Tournament

7th grade 2014

The Mount Horeb boys 7th grade team recently competed in the state tournament in LaCrosse and came away with a Division 2 second place trophy. It is the highest placing of any Mount Horeb team at the state tournament. The MH team defeated Westosha Central, New Berlin Eisenhower, Wausau East, Milton, Pulaski, and Monona Grove before falling to Marinette in the final. Team members include Bryce Farnsworth, Bailey Fischer, Dustin Zenz, Gunnar Nortman, Eyob Urban, Isiah Matthews, Tyler Denu, Jason Larson, and Malik Winston. Coaches are Terry Fischer, Rob Farnsworth, and Jon Larson. Eyob Urban and Gunnar Nortman were chosen to be on the state all-star tournament team, while Bryce Farnsworth and Dustin Zenz were honorable mention.
The team also completed the season with a 37-7 record, were champions of their tri county league, school league, champions of the Mt. Horeb Troll Classic, and champions of the Pointer Invite.
Coach Rob Farnsworth commented, “Winning second at state as one of the smaller teams in division 2 is quite an accomplishment. We played and beat some high quality teams and really played well. The boys played great all weekend and we were all really proud of them. We battled every game, played smart, made shots, and played hard. We couldn’t have asked for a better effort from our boys. It was a fantastic season and we look forward to this summer and next year.”

3v3 Basketball Camp With Coach Neshiem – April 21st – 24th

2014 – 2nd Annual Troll Classic in Review

Thank You to the 70 teams across the state and the 3,000 people that visited our village for the 2nd Annual Troll Classic. 4th Grade Boy’s Close Out the Year With Improvement

Most of the 4th grade boy’s got their first taste of live action this season as they started their basketball careers on the Tri County Circuit. Improvement and hard work was the common theme for the season, great job Little Vikings!
